History
ALBION SC Silicon Valley started as The Gryphonsin 1993 for the purpose of preparing committed youth athletes to play competitive soccer at the highest levels. In 2008, it was re-incorporated as the Gryphons Soccer Club. For the next decade GSC continued to incorporate new and innovative programs to support player development as Force North, establishing the foundation for many youth players including one Womens World Cup winner, several D1 College players and professional teams across the country and world.
FC Silicon Valley was founded in 2020, initially as a training program led by Gerson Perez, Hugo Perez and Carlos Schultze. The project developed into the newest competitive youth soccer club in Redwood City, CA led by Alicia Flores, Mia Lomas and Salvador Godinez Jr.. Soon after, Hugo Perez Jr. joined FCSV to complete the leadership team. Only one and a half years later, FCSV grew triple in size with a 96% retention rate, all attributable to the leadership’s philosophy regarding player development, club structure, community involvement and their heart for soccer.
Together, with Gryphons SC’s rich history and FC Silicon Valley’s passion, we came together as ALBION SC Silicon Valley starting in the 2022/2023 season, with the intent to elevate the soccer landscape in the Redwood City, San Mateo and surrounding area by offering a thoughtful development program with multiple playing pathways.
ALBION SC was formed in 1981. ALBION SC was one of the first competitive clubs in San Diego and the top program in San Diego. In the late 80’s early 1990’s many competitive clubs in the area started emerging and heavily competing. In 1998 ALBION SC landed Technical Director, Noah Gins to take over and professionalize the club, develop a club wide curriculum and develop players and teams to play at the highest level in the US. At the time, the club consisted of 6 ALBION SC teams and a large recreational program.
Looking at the present... The club has over 150 plus teams, 1000 plus players representing the ALBION Junior Program, a full blown Recreational program and has played in 20 National Championship games and being crowned National Champion in 2019, 2021, and 2022, won almost every major event in the US, developed over 40 National Team players, many MLS Player and put hundreds and hundreds of players into College on over $57 million dollars in Soccer Scholarships to date. The club represents some of the best soccer in the country and has one of the most prolific coaching staffs within youth soccer. The club is progressively looking at ways to advance the club and the players and will continue to push to higher levels moving forward. The standards of excellence that the club has set is a bar that only few can achieve in this country. ALBION SC will continue to make history as it paves the way in youth soccer.
